richly blessed us with.

| Church & Family Life
Ministry Area |
Involvement Ministry: The
purpose of Involvement ministry is to help lead both new and mature Christians
into meaningful relationships and ministries at the Hardin Valley Church of Christ
guided by their individual interests and spiritual gifts. When an individual
or family joins the congregation, the Involvement ministry seeks to engage them
in some capacity in the work of the church by requesting completion of an Involvement
survey that matches their talents and interests with the needs and opportunities
available in new or ongoing ministry activities.
Membership Ministry: The primary purpose of the membership
ministry is help new members get connected (through new member handbooks) and
existing members stay connected (through picture and address directories and
perhaps a Family Picture Board) with each other and to various ministries. We
maintain a membership database that contains personal information for each family
and individual , (names, addresses, pictures and involvement preferences, etc.).
We partner with the Involvement Ministry by keeping a record of member involvement
preferences and dispense that information as new members join our fellowship
and as requested from various ministry leaders. We also share responsibility
with the Internet Ministry to maintain the Online Church Directory.
Fellowship Ministry: The Fellowship Ministry encourages church
bonding through family-wide social and spiritual activities, such as fellowship
meals and a fall retreat, as well as community engagement through various public
activities that demonstrate the values of Hardin Valley church of Christ.
Fifty-five Plus Ministry: The 55+ Ministry exists to strengthen
and enhance the spiritual lives and bonds of friendship between its members and
with other groups throughout the body. We hold monthly events that are primarily
social in nature and, as such, self-funded.
Men's Ministry Ministry: The Men’s Ministry provides
opportunities for the men of the church to develop richer relationships while
serving God and growing in his name. Events will include spiritual activities
such as prayer meetings, prayer breakfasts and an annual retreat, plus social
events such as an annual golf outing.
Women’s Ministry Ministry: The purpose of the Sisters
in Service women's ministry of Hardin Valley Church of Christ is to encourage
the women of the church to become more like Christ through sound Bible teaching,
service and connection. Our committees provide two Bible classes, the food and
visitation ministries, outreach during bereavement, showers for weddings and
babies, outreach through Hardin Valley Elementary such as the Christmas and Thanksgiving
baskets, outreach to the staff at the school in the form of events twice a year
to honor them, the women's retreat, mothers of preschoolers group, and mentoring
for the teen girls. Other opportunities are offered to us as needs arise such
as helping with the Easter egg hunt, etc.
Member Services Ministry: Member Services coordinates
opportunities for Hardin Valley members to actively serve one another. By utilizing
member resources, talents, skills and time to perform and assist in various congregational
needs, members can serve others in areas such as yard work, minor household repairs,
helping members move etc. Growing spiritually by serving others within the Hardin
Valley Church of Christ is the goal of Member Services.
Young Professionals Ministry: The Young Professionals
ministry exists to provide an environment where post-college singles and married
young adults can explore God’s word and grow spiritually by sharing our
common love for God and living a life inspired by Christ. We accomplish this
through activities which include bible classes, small group devotionals, and
special events. It is our desire to share our lives and build relationships with
one another and other groups in the church while equipping individuals to reach
the lost by building a solid biblical foundation and fostering an attitude of
personal service to others.
College Ministry: The College Ministry seeks to
involve all Hardin Valley members and guests of college age in a Sunday school
class of their peers and to build relationships through small group and special
activities. The goal of this Ministry is to maintain participation and engagement
and enhance the foundation of faith during these transforming years. |

| Youth Ministry Area |
The mission of the Hardin Valley youth ministry
is to aid our families in ensuring that our teens grow spiritually to the full
measure of Jesus Christ; encouraging them to share their hope in Christ with
as many of their friends as possible.
Through discussion and prayer, the youth
minister and the deacons over HS Education, MS Education, and Elementary Education
developed a curriculum that meets the spiritual growth and development needs
of our children and teens at their respective stages in life. These goals are
outlined in "HVCoC
Youth Ministry Goals and Near-term Plans".

| Missions & Outreach
Ministry Area |
Local Outreach: The
Mission of the Local Outreach Ministry is to:
• promote
the mindset of 'every member evangelism' in the Hardin Valley church,
• equip
all the “Saints” to use their own spiritual gifts for outreach, and
• coordinate
Outreach opportunities for all church activities, so that the entire church may
help seek and save the lost and help them finish the race.
Missions: The purpose of the Hardin Valley Church of Christ Missions Ministry
is to assist others in reaching and saving the lost outside of our church while
offering opportunities for our members to be involved in mission opportunities
that can be an encouragement to them in their journey to become closer to God.
Benevolence: Based on Acts 2:42-47 and Matthew 25:31-46,
the benevolence ministry is dedicated to using the many blessings with which
God has blessed our congregation to assist both members and those in our community
in times of need. We seek to glorify God by showing His love through our actions
to help others.
Service: The purpose of the service ministry is
to provide assistance for the members of Hardin Valley Church of Christ that
have needs due to hardship. This assistance is primarily in the form of providing
for physical needs such as food, house or car repair.

| Operations & Support
Services Ministry Area |
Finance Ministry: The
finance ministry team serves in stewardship / trusteeship roles in support of
the mission of the church. The ministry has the fiduciary responsibility to manage
the financial aspects of the church, including overseeing the receipts and disbursements,
preparation of financial reports, managing church investments and insurance,
assisting in the development and monitoring of the church’s budget, providing
for review of books and records, and providing financial guidance and reports
to the elders and the congregation. In addition, the Ministry manages all vendor
and banking relationships.
Office & Staffing Support Ministry: This ministry
seeks to support the elders, professional staff, ministries and general membership
of the church through the development, equipping, and maintaining of physical
office facilities and equipment and through the coordination of volunteer office
staffing support. The ministry also assists the elders in matters pertaining
to and in support of the church’s professional and office ministry staff.
Internet
Ministry: The
goal of the internet ministry is to maintain an internet web and email presence
for HVCOC. Email lists are maintained for various leadership and functional groups.
For the web presence, the website is split into a public area and a private members
area. The public area is intended to convey the HV hospitality to the community
and the world. The private area is for more confidential items such as the Connection
archives, prayer list, leader contact information, etc. The goal of the internet
ministry in this area is to provide a public area for HVCOC information and also
to provide any resources to other ministry areas for their internet needs.
Communications: The goal of the communications ministry
is to effectively convey information concerning the Hardin Valley Church of Christ
family to both members and visitors so we can draw closer to our Lord and each
other. Our primary form of communication is electronic (via the Internet). Also
we support other ministries as a central source for e-mail alerts and printed
material.
Sound and Lighting: This ministry team arranges sound
and lighting equipment; coordinating budgets, rentals, and purchases for worship
services and events. It also coordinates operators for worship services and events,
advises different leaders and committees on sound and lighting, and provides
budgets on sound and lighting products and/or companies that provide these products.
Production: At present this ministry involves coordinating
all aspects of worship service with the song leaders, speakers, guest speakers
and any 'special' part of the worship services that differs from the norm. This
requires preparing material that will be projected onto the screen as well as
coordinating with the Sound crew. This area of ministry will also include special
events taking place in our permanent facilities, once they are completed, that
involve multimedia needs and coordination. For the sake of continuity and having
standards in different environments, involvement in this ministry is limited
until activities take place in a permanent facility.
Photography: The purpose of this ministry is to document
HV events, activities, and its members through pictures which are used for enhancing
publications, sharing with members and for historical archives (stored in digital
form and also on the website). Many HV members participate in this ministry by
sharing their pictures of events and activities. |
